Interscope Geffen A&M Records has announced the appointment of Aaron Bay-Schuck as president, A&R. In this post, he will oversee all aspects of A&R and creative development for the Universal-owned record label group. He is based in Los Angeles and will report to Interscope Geffen A&M chairman and CEO John Janick.
Bay-Schuck joins IGA following ten years at Atlantic Records, where he was promoted to senior vice president, A&R in 2012. In his tenure there he signed and developed Bruno Mars, and worked with Flo Rida, Cee Lo, B.o.B and others. As well, he conceptualized and helped write Flo Rida’s chart-topping breakthrough hit "Right Round," which featured Ke$ha and went five-times platinum in the U.S., selling more than 10 million copies worldwide.
"Aaron is at the forefront of a new generation of executives," Janick said in a press statement. "He brings a strong musical and creative vision to Interscope Geffen A&M. I’m thrilled to welcome him back to where it all started for him, and I’m excited about what he will contribute to what I already consider the best executive team and artist roster out there."
"Interscope Geffen A&M is the most iconic label of my generation; to be returning in this creative capacity is a dream come true," Bay-Schuck said in a statement. "Under John's leadership, the label continues to foster an environment where passion for artist development, collaboration, and the art of record making can thrive. Joining the team in the mission to break the best artists in the world is an undeniable privilege. I can't thank John and Lucian Grainge enough for this incredible opportunity."
