The Beat: Premios Juventud (Latin Youth Awards)

"Every time I'm onstage I'm close to my fans and I'm the happiest person in the world," beamed superstar Enrique Iglesias to the deafening crowd at Univision's Premios Juventud Awards, held at Miami's BankUnited Center.

The fan-voted "youth awards" showcased the artists who were this year's top dogs, and Iglesias' spirits visibly soared as he accepted the Supernova Award from actress Roselyn Sanchez. The event, which averaged 4.3 million viewers through the night (according to Nielsen), also feted bachata crooner Romeo Santos, who tied Iglesias with five honors during the telecast. Gerardo Ortiz and Pitbull also snagged top nods, with Ortiz taking the My Regional Mexican Artist category and 33-year-old Pitbull winning the Youth Idol title.

During his speech, the Miami-bred rapper thanked his hometown ("Without Miami, there is no Pitbull") and also got political with a reference to the immigration issues dominating the news, dedicating the honor to "the children and families trying to cross the border, looking for the American dream." The real surprise of the evening, though, was when Ricky Martin and Jennifer Lopez stunned the audience with a virtual performance of a special version of "Adrenalina" with Wisin.
