AEG Live Pres. of International Touring Rob Hallett Leaves Company

Rob Hallett, AEG Live's president of international touring, has left the company with immediate effect. His surprise departure was announced this morning (Apr. 25) in a brief announcement from AEG Live, which stated that Hallett “now feels the time is right to explore other opportunities within the Live Music entertainment space.”

During his 10-year reign at AEG Live, Hallett was responsible for overseeing global treks (excluding North America) for Leonard Cohen, Jennifer Lopez, Justin Bieber, Usher and Black Eyed Peas, as well as Prince’s 21-night run of shows at London’s 20,000-capacity the O2 arena in 2007.

The widely-respected exec also looked after three Bon Jovi stadium tours of Europe, first working with the act on the 2005-06 “Have A Nice Day” trek and more recently working on the band’s eight outdoor dates in the United Kingdom and Ireland as part of its 2013 record-breaking “Because We Can” tour.  

Last year also saw the debut of AEG Live’s central London-based festival “British Summertime at Hyde Park,” having won the Hyde Park tender from fierce rivals Live Nation. The inaugural 10-day event featured headline performances from Bon Jovi, The Rolling Stones, Lionel Richie and Jennifer Lopez,  while this year's event counts Black Sabbath and Backstreet Boys among its confirmed headliners. 

Prior to joining AEG Live in 2005 (initially as senior VP of international), Hallett spent 10 years as head of music at the Mean Fiddler Group. In the preceding decade he worked as an agent and promoter at Marshall Arts Ltd.

AEG Live declined to further comment on Hallett’s surprise exit.
