The Action: Motown's New Soul

Motown Records and Capitol Christian Music Group plan to shake up the gospel world with new joint venture Motown Gospel, which replaces Capitol's EMI Gospel label. That label's president, Ken Pennell, will lead the new entity, which stays under CCMG and CEO Bill Hearn. Profits will be split 50/50 between Island Def Jam/Motown and CCMG/Capitol Music Group. First to join the Motown Gospel roster is CeCe Winans, who'll release a new album in early 2014.
