Columbia Inks Deal For Goapele Set

Skyblaze Records enters joint venture

Bulletin has learned that Skyblaze Recordings, home to R&B songstress Goapele, has entered into a joint venture with Columbia Records/Sony Urban Music for the rerelease of the singer's 2002 Skyblaze/RED debut, "Even Closer."

The album has sold more than 61,000 units in the U.S., according to Nielsen SoundScan. Lead single "Closer" hit No. 83 on the Hot R&B/Hip-Hop Singles & Tracks chart and is featured on Elektra's "Honey" soundtrack.

Columbia has also inked a production deal for future Goapele albums.
