Vets Lory, Schwartz Join IconEntertainment@JWT

Music-business veterans Dave Lory and Joanne Schwartz have joined IconEntertainment@JWT, the entertainment division of advertising agency J. Walter Thompson, Billboard.biz has learned.

Music-business veterans Dave Lory and Joanne Schwartz have joined IconEntertainment@JWT, the entertainment division of advertising agency J. Walter Thompson, Billboard.biz has learned.

Lory will serve as director of music at New York-based IconEntertainment, working to attract music clients, build a management roster and develop branding and sponsorship deals. A veteran artist manager (Allman Brothers Band, Jeff Buckley), Lory most recently served as chairman/CEO of Worldwide Entertainment Group, which has disbanded. He previously worked as senior VP of Artemis Records and head of international marketing at Mercury Records.

Schwartz has been named director of business development for IconEntertainment. She most recently managed actress Sandra Bernhard; prior to that, she spent five years in A&R at Warner Bros. Records and oversaw U.S. operations for U.K. label Telstar Records.

Both execs report to Steven Flanders, president of IconEntertainment.
