As first tipped here, Tim McGraw will play a U.S. amphitheater tour of 30-plus dates starting June 11 at Verizon Wireless Amphitheater in Virginia Beach, Va. The Warren Brothers and Big & Rich will support.
Billed as Tim McGraw & the Dancehall Doctors Out Loud Summer, the tour has dates on the books until Aug. 1 at Starwood Amphitheater near Nashville. McGraw and his Doctors are also booked for We Fest on Aug. 6 in Detroit Lakes, Minn.
McGraw's next Curb release is due Aug. 31.
For the second year, Tim McGraw is offering a ticket presale to members of his official fan club. McGraw will also donate $1 from each ticket purchased through his official Web site to his two charities of choice: Swampstock and the Gridiron Heroes Spinal Cord Injury Organization. McGraw and Billy Bob Thornton will headline a benefit concert for the latter group April 10 in Austin, Texas, prior to the tour's launch.
The tour will be produced by Clear Channel Entertainment, spearheaded by Brian O'Connell and sponsored by Bud Light, McGraw's tour sponsor of the past six years. McGraw is managed by Scott Siman and Mark Hurt at RPM Management and booked by Rod Essig at Creative Artists Agency. Last year, McGraw grossed $33 million from 53 shows, 14th among all touring acts for the year.
