Netherlands-based independent label CNR International has inked a licensing deal to release Gordon Lightfoot's new album "Harmony" on May 10 across Europe. CNR's European distribution is handled by a network of companies.

The album, Lightfoot's 20th original solo set in a career spanning four decades, was completed only after the Canadian contemporary folk artist recovered from an abdominal hemorrhage he suffered 18 months ago.

As previously reported, "Harmony" will have a May 11 release in North America. In Canada, it will go through Toronto-based independent label Linus Entertainment, which is distributed by Warner Music Canada. In the United States, it will be handled by New York-based SpinArt Records, through Rykodisc.

Although still recovering, Lightfoot is expected to be ready to tour by the end of 2004.
