Simon & Garfunkel Confirm Summer Dates

As first tipped here in January, Simon & Garfunkel will extend their hugely success

As first tipped here in January, Simon & Garfunkel will extend their hugely successful 2003 reunion tour with more dates this summer.

Nineteen arena dates have been added to the tour, beginning June 10 at the Pepsi Arena in Albany, N.Y., and running until July 8 at the New Orleans Arena.

Only a handful of markets are repeats from the 2003 tour, including Uncasville, Conn., Philadelphia, Los Angeles and Las Vegas. The Everly Brothers will again support.

The 2003 outing, dubbed Old Friends, wrapped Dec. 21 in Tampa, Fla., having grossed $55,062,754 and drawn 501,997 to 32 shows. It was the pair's first major tour since 1983.
The North American dates will likely followed by European shows in July, sources say. There is also a chance for a brief run in Japan.

William Morris Agency (Garfunkel) and CAA (Simon) are U.S. agents for the tour; Neil Warnock at the Agency Group and Barry Dickins at International Talent Booking are handling international dates.

Garfunkel's manager John Scher and Simon's manager Jeff Kramer are partners in the outing. The tour has cut individual promoter deals in each market, including pacts with AEG Live, the Messina Group, Clear Channel Entertainment, Jam Productions, Beaver Productions, Metropolitan Talent, Silva/Hewitt Presents and in-house promotions.
