BDS/Soundscan's Birger Dies At 31

Director of client services died in Nashville.

Marc Birger, director of client services for Nielsen Entertainment East Coast Operations, died of a heart attack Monday (April 19) in Nashville. He was 31.

Birger, who began his career as an intern for WXRK New York, joined BDS/Soundscan in 1998 as BDSradio product manager before ascending to his most recent post, where he supported Nielsen Broadcast Data Systems, Nielsen SoundScan, Nielsen VideoScan and Nielsen Bookscan.

Birger is survived by his wife Mary, his parents and a brother. The funeral will take place today (April 23) at the Christ Evangelical Lutheran Church in Union, N.J.
