Scottsdale, Ariz.-based Fender Musical Instruments Corporation (FMIC) has unveiled a rebate program for dealers and consumers as part of its yearlong celebration of the 50th anniversary of the Stratocaster electric guitar.

Under the initiative, consumers who purchase a qualifying American Series Stratocaster instrument between June 1 and August 31 will receive $100 in savings.

FMIC will promote the rebate program to consumers through advertising and direct communication through the company's e-mail database and Web site. Consumers will be directed to the nearest participating authorized Fender retailer.

Any Fender American Series instrument -- including Stratocaster guitars, Telecaster guitars, Precision Bass guitars and Jazz Bass guitars -- qualifies for the deal. The rebate offer includes any existing stock a retailer may have as well as newly ordered instruments.

Consumers will receive an instant savings of $50 at the point of purchase, funded by FMIC through additional discounts given when retailers place a replenishment order. Consumers will also receive a coupon for a $50 rebate directly from FMIC.

FMIC will provide in-store displays promoting the rebate program to participating retailers and providing necessary paperwork for consumers.
