The BMG legal department, shaken up last week with the departure of co-general counsel Jim Cooperman, has restocked with the promotion of David Seklir to VP, legal and business affairs.

Seklir, based in New York, will report to Anne Chwat, general counsel/senior VP, legal and business affairs. He will focus primarily on new technology, as he has in his most recent role of senior director of legal and business affairs.

Seklir joined BMG in 2000 after five years at Sony Music, where he held positions including associate director of new technology and business development.
