IGDA Names Board Members, Officers

The International Game Developers Assn. (IGDA) has appointed two new members to its Board of Directors and designated three incumbent board members as officers.

The International Game Developers Assn. (IGDA) has appointed two new members to its Board of Directors and designated three incumbent board members as officers. The board guides the IGDA, a non-profit membership organization that advocates globally on issues related to digital-game creation.

Industry veteran Bob Bates, author of "Game Design: The Art and Business of Creating Games," was elected to the board, as was Brian Reynolds, president of Big Huge Games, who will serve as the IGDA's secretary.

Existing board members appointed to officer positions are chairperson Jesse Schell, professor of Entertainment Technology at Carnegie Mellon University; treasurer Mitzi McGilvray, executive producer at Tapwave; and chair emeritus Kathy Schoback, VP of content strategy at Infinium Labs.

The new board term will last two years.
