Koch Picks Up Two Labels For Canada

Malaco, Finger land distribution up North.

Koch Entertainment in Toronto has forged exclusive Canadian distribution agreements with the Malaco Music Group in Jackson, Miss., and Finger Records/Long Live Crime Records in L.A.

Malaco Music Group has been without Canadian distribution since the demise of Song Entertainment Distribution in 2001. Malaco goes through Select-O-Hits in the United States. For Finger, which also has U.S. distribution through Koch, the new deal is its first Canadian arrangement.

Malaco's vast repertoire includes R&B, jazz, urban, Christian, and children's music, by the likes of Johnnie Taylor, Little Milton, Cannonball Adderly, the Mississippi Children's Choir, Louis Armstrong, Count Basie, Duke Ellington and Dizzy Gillespie.

With an emphasis on old-school punk, Finger has a roster that includes the Skulls, El Centro, El Nada, Unit F, Broken Bottles, and Electric Frankenstein. Sister label Long Live Crime includes Polar Bear, Ethyl Meatplow, Long Live Crime Musical Project, Lucky Loser and Maven.
