Minnie Driver Signs With Rounder

Pop/folk album due in September.

Rounder Records has signed actress Minnie Driver to her first U.S. recording contract. Her debut, "Everything I've Got in My Pocket," will be released on the Cambridge, Mass.-based label's Zoe imprint in September.

Driver, who has a pop/folk style, is backed on the album by a group that includes members of the Wallflowers and Pete Yorn's band. She wrote all of the songs on the album, except for a cover of Bruce Springsteen's "Hungry Heart."

Driver began her career as a singer, according to Rounder. She was signed to Island Records in London in the early '90s but put her music on hold as her acting career took off.
