Christophe Lameignere has been promoted to president of BMG France. He was formerly president of the company's music division.

He continues to report to BMG International president Maarten Steinkamp, who announced the news in an internal memo seen by Billboard.biz. As a consequence of the appointment, Steinkamp relinquishes his role as president of BMG France, which he had held since March 2003, following the departure of then-president Bruno Gérentes.

As part of the realignment, BMG France COO Christophe Waignier becomes executive VP, reporting directly to Lameignere. As COO, he had reported to Steinkamp.

The changes become effective July 1.

Lameignere took the new position of president of BMG France's music division in May 2003. He was formerly managing director of Zomba France, and previously held management positions at Sony Music. During the past year, he oversaw the integration of Zomba France into BMG.
