Sony Music Entertainment Australia has tapped overseas sources to form a new A&R team.

Sony Music Entertainment Australia has tapped overseas sources to form a new A&R team.

Jay Dee Springbett is named director of A&R, replacing Michael Taylor, who is relocating to New York after a three-year stint Down Under to take the role of senior director of A&R for Epic Records.

Until recently, Springbett worked in London as a consultant with Warner Music U.K. for the band Artful Dodger; for the past four years he was also creative director at Shalit Global Music, where he worked with Jamelia and Big Brovaz. In his new role, he reports to Denis Handlin, chairman/CEO of Sony Music Entertainment Australia.

Meanwhile, Courtney Hard has been named Sony Australia A&R manager, reporting to Springbett. She was director of creative for ASCAP in Los Angeles and New York, where she worked with R.E.M., Dave Matthews Band, John Mayer and Gran Bel Fisher.
