With six nods, Arista's Carolyn Dawn Johnson dominates the nominees for the 2004 Canadian Country Music Awards, to be held Sept. 13 at Rexall Place in Edmonton, Alberta.

Johnson is up for top female artist, and her single "Simple Life" is nominated for top song, top video and top single. Her "Dress Rehearsal" is up for top album. Johnson is also a contender in the Fans' Choice category.

Two Open Roads Records acts, Doc Walker and Jason McCoy, each received five nominations, including Fans' Choice.

Veteran Terri Clark (Mercury) and newcomers Aaron Pritchett (Royalty) and Beverley Mahood (Spin) have four nods each.

During the awards, Ontario bluegrass band the Good Brothers and Vancouver DJ "Weird" Harold Kendall will be inducted into the CCMA Hall of Fame.

The awards show will air live in Canada on CBC Television and in the United States on CMT.
