Cirque Du Soleil Turns RED

Distrib deal to birth compilation releases.

Quebec-based Cirque du Soleil Musique, Inc., a newly-formed label associated with the renowned Montreal-based Cirque du Soleil, has signed an exclusive U.S. distribution deal with RED Distribution, effective immediately.

The first Cirque du Soleil Musique projects to be covered under the pact are the soundtracks of the shows "Alegria" and "Varekai." Both productions are currently touring in the U.S.

Cirque du Soleil Musique will have two new releases in the fall: The compiliation "Le Best Of," being released Sept. 21, collects the greatest musical moments of Cirque du Soleil's 20-year history.; and "Tapis Rouge -- Solarium," an album of remixes inspired by the Cirque du Soleil musical repertoire, streets on Oct. 19. Remixers include Thievery Corporation, Banzai Republic, Cottonbelly and Chilluminati.
