Paramount Home Entertainment and its TV distribution entities have entered into a DVD and TV distribution deal with Batjac Productions, a production company founded by the late John Wayne.

Starting next spring, Paramount will distribute a number of rarely seen Wayne films from the '50s and '60s on DVD. The first titles will include "The High and the Mighty" (1954), "Hondo" (1953), "Island in the Sky" (1953) and "McLintock!" (1962). Each DVD will contain bonus features from Batjac's library such as commentaries and "making of" featurettes.

The deal will also see Paramount releasing five films produced by Batjac, but not featuring Wayne, for cable and DVD. The titles are "Man in the Vault" (1956), "Plunder of the Sun" (1953), "Ring of Fear" (1954), "Seven Men from Now" (1956) and "Track of the Cat" (1954).
