Scripps Names GAC Chief

Hardy takes senior VP role.

Ed Hardy has joined Scripps Networks as senior VP in charge of Great American Country (GAC), which Scripps is in the process of acquiring from Jones Media. Jeff Wayne remains president of GAC, reporting to Hardy.

Hardy spent 36 years in the radio industry, and most recently was president/CEO of MeasureCast, an audience measurement company for Internet streaming services. He has also been a consultant to MediaBlue/Nox Solutions, a provider of Web site design, hosting and fulfillment products for nationally syndicated talk show hosts including Bill O'Reilly, Laura Ingraham and Mike Gallagher.

Hardy previously worked as a local GM of stations in Louisville, Ky.; Denver; and Portland, Ore. He spent most of the 1990s working for Deschutes River Broadcasting and remained with that company after it merged with Citadel Broadcasting.
