EMI Cont'l Europe Names Chris Kennedy CFO

EMI Music Continental Europe in London continues to restructure under chairman/CEO Jean-Francois Cecillon.

EMI Music Continental Europe in London continues to restructure under chairman/CEO Jean-Francois Cecillon.

Chris Kennedy, who was CFO of EMI Music U.K. and Ireland, has been elevated to senior VP/CFO for Continental Europe, reporting to Cecillon.

In his new role, Kennedy is responsible for the finance operations of EMI's 21 companies in Continental Europe, Africa and the Middle East, and the regional finance team at the major's headquarters. The regional heads of sales and digital music now report to him.

He replaces former EMI Music Continental Europe executive VP/CFO Eric Bielsa, who left the company earlier this year. EMI Music CFO Stuart Ells has handled those duties since then.

Kennedy joined EMI in 1993 as business support manager for EMI U.K.

Meanwhile, Justin Morris has transferred from L.A. to EMI Music U.K. and Ireland, where he succeeds Kennedy, reporting to chairman/CEO Tony Wadsworth. Morris was senior VP/CFO for Capitol Records. He joined EMI international in London in 1990.
