MTV Ups Divney, Rohrer

Both execs will remain in New York.

MTV Networks has promoted Larry Divney to president of ad sales. He was COO of ad sales. In addition, Doug Rohrer segues from his position of executive VP of ad sales to executive VP/senior advisor to Divney.

Both executives remain based out of the company's New York headquarters. Divney will report to MTV Networks chairman/CEO Judy McGrath, while Rohrer will report to Divney.

In his new position, Divney will oversee the ad sales for all of MTV Networks' TV and online businesses, including MTV, VH1, CMT, Comedy Central, Nickelodeon, Nick at Nite, Spike TV and Logo.

Divney's history with MTV Networks goes back to 1981, when he was MTV's first VP of ad sales. He became CEO of Comedy Central in 1999. Divney has also worked in sales at CNN, CNN Headline News and A&E.
