LOS ANGELES -- Following a multimillion dollar investment by Thomas H. Lee Partners, artist managers Irving Azoff and Howard Kaufman have merged their companies, Azoffmusic Management and H.K. Management, to re-form FrontLine, the management company the two ran from 1974 to 1983.

FrontLine intends to purchase other management and entertainment service companies, according to sources, with funding provided by T. H. Lee Partners.

Among Azoff and Kaufman's clients are Christina Aguilera, the Eagles, Seal, Lenny Kravitz, Alan Jackson and Jimmy Buffett.

Azoff and Kaufman declined to comment. Officials at T. H. Lee Partners could not be reached by press time.
