Theater-Owners Group Names General Counsel

The National Assn. of Theatre Owners appointed G. Kendrick Macdowell to serve as the association's general counsel and director of government affairs in Washington, D.C.

The National Assn. of Theatre Owners appointed G. Kendrick Macdowell to serve as the association's general counsel and director of government affairs in Washington, D.C.

Macdowell most recently served as general counsel to the U.S. Senate Governmental Affairs Subcommittee on Financial Management, the Budget and International Security, which was chaired by former Sen. Peter Fitzgerald, R-Ill., who recently retired. Macdowell also worked as the senator's legislative counsel for judiciary issues.

Prior to his public service on Capitol Hill, Macdowell was a partner at Patton Boggs LLP, where he worked as a litigator and appellate advocate. Previously he clerked for Judge Thomas M. Reavley of the Fifth Circuit Court of Appeals in Austin, Texas.

Macdowell holds J.D., Masters and B.A. degrees from the University of Texas.
