Greek Artists Support Tsunami Relief

Ticket sales for a concert in Athens last night (Jan. 26) generated €274,520 ($359,000) in support of the Asian tsunami relief effort.

Ticket sales for a concert in Athens last night (Jan. 26) generated €274,520 ($359,000) in support of the Asian tsunami relief effort.

About 50 popular Greek artists took part in the four-hour fundraising concert at the OAKA Olympic Sports Complex, including George Dalaras, Alkistis Protopsalti, Eleftheria Arvanitaki and Dimitra Galani.

Organized by public broadcaster ERT, the concert was televised live by public network NET. ERT is preparing a charity CD album of the concert.
