Ex-Astralwerks act just won Grammy.
Basement Jaxx -- who picked up their first Grammy Award last night for best electronic/dance album for "Kish Kash" (XL Recordings/Astralwerks) -- are without a U.S. label.
The act's manager, Andrew Mansi, says Astralwerks chose not to renew its contract with the British duo, which is still signed to XL internationally.
"It was a perfect time for this award," says Basement Jaxx member Felix Buxton, who adds that XL will release two new singles, "Oh My Gosh" and "You Don't Know Me," and a best-of compilation in the near future.
In March, the duo will kick off a new monthly party, "Inside Out," at the Jamm Club in Brixton, England. The act will soon begin recording new tracks for its next artist album.
