CMT Honors Loretta Lynn

Country veteran receives Visionary Award.

CMT has announced Loretta Lynn as this year's recipient of the cable network's Johnny Cash Visionary Award. Lynn will be presented with the honor on the live telecast of the CMT 2005 Music Awards April 11 from Nashville.

Previous winners of the award, given out annually during CMT's awards show, are the Dixie Chicks (2002), Cash (2003) and Reba McEntire (2004).

The award, previously known as the Video Visionary Award, was permanently re-named in honor of Cash last year. It recognizes an artist's "extraordinary musical vision, innovative and groundbreaking music videos and pioneering initiatives in entertainment," according to CMT.
