After working in the home video business, Hutchison moved to the music industry as GM of the Virgin-owned subsidiary, Caroline Distribution, where he was eventually was promoted to president.

In 1994, he joined Alliance Entertainment and created the label management division, AEC Label Development, as well as later starting K-Tel International's wholly owned third party distribution division, K-Tel Distribution in 1997. He created the Musicrama Distribution and Marketing division for Sheridan Square Entertainment in 2005. He also enjoys a long-term consulting arrangement with Joan Jett's Blackheart Records Group.

"Duncan is a seasoned leader with a diverse knowledge of the music industry and is going to be an excellent addition to our senior management team," said Patrick Sullivan, RightsFlow's CEO. "He adds tremendous value to our company and we see his role helping accelerate and shape our explosive growth trajectory into 2009."

For his part, Hutchison says, "Rightsflow is a dynamic company with a proven product and I'm excited at the prospect of offering labels the opportunity to safely and effectively outsource, at significant costs savings, mechanical licensing and royalty payments; an area of increasingly complexity and liability for many rights owners."
