Donovan Honored By French Govt

The French government has honored veteran U.K folk artist Donovan, during the MIDEM international music market and conference in Cannes.

The singer and songwriter received the medal for Officer in the Order of Arts and Letters by the country's culture minister, Christine Albanel. It is France's top national award for cultural achievement.

Donovan, whose hits include "Mellow Yellow" and "Sunshine Superman," began his career in 1965 and has a long relationship with publisher Peermusic.

Medals were also presented to Paul Zilk, the CEO and president of Reed MIDEM, and French classical artist Philippe Jaroussky.
