Indie 103 Flips To 'El Gato'

As expected, Entravision Radio's KDLD & KDLE/Los Angeles has flipped to the company's new regional Mexican format "El Gato," after dropping alternative "Indie 103.1" on Thursday (Jan. 15). The "El Gato" format first debut on the company's KYSE/El Paso.

"El Gato"/L.A., which is using the slogan "Salvajemente Grupera" ("Wildly Grupera"), is a young leaning format targeting an 18-34 demo and can be best described as "contemporary rhythmic regional Mexican." The music mix includes duranguense, grupero and cumbia and other danceable styles of Mexican music.

The station is currently commercial and jock free. However, it sounds like Oswaldo Díaz's show "Erazno y La Chokolata" will air in afternoon drive.

Entravision has yet to make an official announcement.
