Latin Briefs: Conjunto Primavera, Salt Lake City Flip

- Romantic norteño veterans Conjunto Primavera are teaming with some noteworthy names on their newest Fonovisa release, "Mentir Por Amor." Songwriter Ramon Gonzalez Mora, author of several of the group's hits including "Necesito Decirte," is back for the first time in four years with two tracks: "Amor Perdóname" y "Pobre De Mi Corazón." First single "Mi Primera Vez" is by banda legend Joan Sebastian, and the title track comes courtesy of pop stalwart Kike Santander and Oswaldo Villareal.

-KTMY/Salt Lake City has dropped the country format in favor of Spanish adult hits "La Preciosa," and joins the Spanish-language network already in 15 markets.

La Preciosa features a vast regional Mexican catalogue that includes artists like Los Bukis, Vicente Fernández, Los Freddy's and Juan Gabriel. The network also features personality Humberto Luna in the mornings with the "El Show de Humberto Luna."

"We are really excited to serve the growing Hispanic communities of Salt Lake City, Ogden and Provo," said CC Salt Lake City VP/GM Stu Stanek. "La Preciosa allows us to provide compelling programming, public service and serve a niche not presently provided on the FM band across our market area." - Jackie Madrigal, Radio & Records
