Vampire Weekend, Klaxons Join Benicassim Line-Up

Vampire Weekend, dance act Leftfield, and electro-pop band Klaxons are among a host of musicians added Feb. 25 to the 16th International Festival of Benicassim, Spain, known as FIB Heineken.

They join the Prodigy, Kasabian, PiL, the Specials, Ian Brown and Dizzee Rascal, already confirmed to appear at the July 15-18 festival on Spain's eastern Mediterranean coast. More than half of FIB Heineken's daily 50,000 attendance in recent years has consisted of fans from the U.K. and northern Europe, many of whom make the festival part of their summer holidays on the beach in southern Europe.

Other musicians confirmed today are the Courteeners, Calvin Harris, Cut Copy, Magnetic Man and French musician, producer and DJ Pierre-Alexandre Busson, aka Yuksek.

The first Spanish acts confirmed are the legendary Madrid outfit Los Ilegales, Triangulo De Amor Bizarro, Jonston, and Southern Arts Society.

FIB Heineken promoter Vince Power has said that "after the huge success of 2009's sold-out festival, I'm looking forward to having the same success this year."

Four-day tickets cost £160 ($243) plus booking fee.

Meanwhile, U.K. pop act McFly and Spanish pop-rock duo Pereza have been added to the line-up at Rock in Rio Madrid 2010, which will be held June 4-6, June 11 and June 14 at Arganda del Rey, 17km from Madrid. McFly will perform on June 6, alongside Miley Cyrus, on what will be "family day" aimed at a mainly juvenile public.

Pereza - one of Spain's biggest sellers in recent years - appear on June 4, alongside Bon Jovi and John Mayer.
