Kanye? Feh! Irving Azoff is Tweeting!

The most powerful man in the music business started tweeting this week. And we don't mean Kanye West.

Twitter's 125 million-plus user base grew by one very surprising entry on Tuesday when Ticketmaster CEO/Live Nation chairman Irving Azoff fired off his first real message, in a voice unmistakably his: "So if you want ticket prices to go down stop stealing music."

Since then, in just six tweets, @irvingazoff has dissed Perez Hilton ("i see perez welcomed me. shame on you for your fair weather fandom. respect artist expression. without creative artists we are noone") and AEG Live's Randy Phillips ("for the lefsetzers! randy is a genius inventor. He invented 'managers who scalp' as denhits says, 'when his lips move') and thumbed an update on his prized client Christina Aguilera ("please be patient. you will see Christina everywhere as soon as movie promo starts. she is working nonstop finishing music for the movie").

Though the account has yet to be verified by Twitter, we confirmed it is really him and not a fake. And while we wait for his response to our inquiry regarding his acute interest in Twitter, let's point out this: He's adding followers at a very respectable pace. About 100 jumped onboard in the last hour, topping 1050, and Twitter Grader ranks him in the top 310,000 tweeters on his day two. Not bad.

The Azoff Twitter-Watch commences now.
