Becky G, Paul McCartney & DJ Earworm : Real-Time Twitter Chart Rewind Ep. 28

Welcome back to Billboard's weekly video show Real-Time Rewind, which recaps the past week's hottest action on the new Billboard Real-Time Twitter Charts -- Trending 140 and Emerging Artists -- and the news that's driving the action. Joe Levy is in the studio on Episode 28, which features Becky G, Paul McCartney and DJ Earworm.

So what was happening on the Real-Time Charts this week?

Becky G is back with a new single, "Can't Stop Dancin," that topped the chart thanks to some A-list celebrity endorsements on Twitter. Katy Perry (who she opened for), Pitbull (who she's recorded with) and Meghan Trainor all shared the song and its praises on Twitter, sending it to the No. 1 position on the Trending 140. She previously topped the real-time chart back in June with her single “Shower.”

San Francisco-based mashup artist DJ Earworm released the 2014 version of his “United State of Pop,” a yearly mashup composed of the 25 biggest hits on the Billboard Hot 100. On Dec. 3 Earworm topped the Trending 140 for nearly the entire day.

Lastly, McCartney appears as a hologram in the music video for "Hope for the Future," a track appearing on the soundtrack to the new video game Destiny. "Future" topped the Trending 140 on both Dec. 8 and 9.

The Trending 140 chart measures the acceleration of conversation around artists and their music, while the Emerging Artists chart measures the volume of tweets around new artists and their songs.
