Miley Cyrus Performs Live In Melbourne

"A Day in the Life" might be an all-time classic Beatles song, but that didn't stop the Flaming Lips and Miley Cyrus from covering it on With a Little Help From My Fwends, along with the rest of Sgt. Pepper's Lonely Hearts Club Band. Or from performing the track together on Conan on Thursday night.

Frontman Wayne Coyne came wearing a parachute-size tinfoil dress and what may have been a Christmas wreath as a necklace. With fake eyeballs stuck all around his face, Coyne certainly made John Lennon's dreamy verses his own. At the 1:50 mark in the clip below, Miley emerges from Coyne's giant getup to sing the Paul McCartney verse with her own spin (and with a tinsel wig, just because):

In a track-by-track review of With a Little Help from My Fwends, Billboard found "A Day in the Life" "one of the most imposing Pepper's songs to tackle" -- on an album stacked with tricky compositions and unique performances. Fortunately My Morning Jacket, MGMT, J MascisTegan & Sara, and more were there to help the Lips get by.
