Exclusive: Listen to Leighton Meester's New Song 'Heartstrings'

Leighton Meester

Leighton Meester is channeling Chiles Stanton.

Meester -- who showed off her voice in Country Strong -- just wrapped a turn on Broadway in Of Mice and Men, and is now putting the finishing touches on her debut LP Heartstrings.

Below, Billboard can exclusively debut the title track, which shows the former Gossip Girl exploring concepts of guarded love, irony and heartache.

"'Heartstrings' speaks to vibe and encompasses a lot of the themes of the rest of the album," Meester tells Billboard. "It's been a long time coming and I'm very excited to finally release it."

In the style of ethereal singer-songwriters such as Tori Amos and Joni Mitchell, the nine-song LP, written by Meester and produced by Jeff Trott (Sheryl Crow, Augustana), will be officially released Oct. 28.
