Cody Simpson, MKTO Play Acoustic Set Sponsored By Hollister (Watch)

Cody Simpson recently stopped by the Hollister House in Santa Monica to meet some fans, soak up a lil' beachside sun and perform a stripped down gig for an excited audience packed in the swimming pool. Following openers MKTO, Simpson's set included old hits including "All Day," new bangers like "Surfboard," and an eclectic handful of covers that ranged from Justin Timberlake's "Señorita" to Elvis Presley and Jimmy Reed's "Baby What You Want Me to Do."

"We're in kind of an acoustic setting so everything sounds a little more organic, which is my style," Simpson told Billboard after the set. "It's good fun to mix it up every now and then because obviously it's exciting for the audience but it's also exciting for me too to switch it up."

For the 17-year-old pop star who's been recording since he was 14, he said this time now is when he's really coming into his own and establishing himself.

"I feel like I'm at a place, especially coming into this year and turning 18, where I can really lock down a nice sound for myself and just chug forward in that direction," he said. "A career is a marathon to me, a lot of people treat it like a sprint. Because honestly it's more important to me to grow and to be the best that I am when I'm 25, 30 years old."
