Radio Vet Jack Hobbs Joins Spanish Broadcasting System, Leaves Univision Radio

Veteran radio executive Jack Hobbs has accepted a top executive position with Spanish Broadcasting System, according to officials.

Hobbs is said to have resigned from his post as executive VP/director of sales for Univision Radio for his new position at SBS, according to a source familiar with the situation who spoke on condition of anonymity.
In the upcoming days, Hobbs is expected to be named executive VP of corporate sales and will oversee cross-platform sales for SBS' TV, radio, entertainment division and Internet.

Hobbs will be based in Miami.
Hobbs was employed at Univision since July 1995, according to his LinkedIn profile in addition to being recognized as's Media Executive of the Year in 2007. The award was given at the Association of Hispanic Advertising Agencies' bi-annual conference in San Antonio, Texas.
Last year Hobbs worked on Univision Radio's H20 Music Festival, which focused on the bilingual and bicultural market featuring both English- and Spanish-language acts such as Juanes, Snoop Dogg, Weezer and Paulina Rubio, among others.
Hobbs has worked with some of Latin music's leading names, such as Jennifer Lopez, who in 2007 participated in a Univision Radio concert with songs from her first Spanish-language album.
