Australia’s Laneway Festival is eyeing a launch in North America this year.
Details are sketchy, and a date or city haven’t yet been announced. But when the big show does happen, Laneway will become the first Australian fest to test the waters in the U.S. or Canada.
Laneway started out in 2004 as St Jerome's Laneway Festival, a back-alley street party in Melbourne. Now, it spans seven cities across three countries – Australia, New Zealand and Singapore. The outdoor sites typically pull capacity crowds of 4,000-10,000.
