Anyone who doesn't love Third Eye Blind is either 12 or lying to themselves, and the tweenagers only get a break because they weren't alive in the '90s. All that's about to change, though, because Hilary Duff is coming out of musical retirement to lend some sweet vocals, alongside her new husband Matthew Koma, to RAC's forthcoming cover of "Never Let You Go."
The original peaked at No. 14 on the Billboard Hot 100 in 2000, and based on the teaser snippet RAC posted to Instagram, the update is sure to please. The mix is updated with a boosted beat and synthetic, tempered melody, lending the pop-rock favorite a low-key mood. That iconic guitar part is still front and center, and we're gonna get a face full of this beauty on Wednesday via Counter Records.
"Never Let You Go" signals the first Duff single since 2016's "Little Lies." RAC has proved his worth with reworks, having remixed Billy Idol and winning a Grammy for his touch on Bob Moses' "Tearing Me Up." Koma already landed a Hot 100 hit for his vocals on Tiesto's "Wasted," and we named two of his jams on our list of the 60 best dance songs of the 2010s. The three together on a bona fide hit are bound to be magic.
Listen to the teaser taste of RAC's "Never Let You Go" with Koma and Duff below.
