Mickey Finn, a bongo player with the 1970s glam rock band T Rex, died Saturday in a South London hospital. He was 56. No cause of death was given, but news reports said Finn had suffered from kidney and liver problems.
Lionel Richie, currently enjoying a modest career comeback, will on Feb. 4 release "The Definitive Collection" (UTV). The 20-track compilation disc culls Richie's best-known tracks from throughout his career, including 16 top-10 pop hits and a new recording, "To Love a Woman," which is a duet with co-writer Enrique Iglesias.
Westlife is back in familiar territory at No. 1 on the U.K. singles chart. The group's cover of Billy Joel's "Uptown Girl," released for the Comic Relief charity, went straight to No. 1 this week, selling 292,000 copies and ending Shaggy's one-week run at the top with "It Wasn't Me" (MCA). The Irish pop quintet's string of seven-straight chart-toppers ended last December.
