Billboard's new pan-European sales charts show Sade starting a third week atop European Albums with "Soldier of Love" (Epic/Sony Music Entertainment), while Ke$ha 's "Tik Tok" (RCA/Sony Music Entertainment) moves into a fifth week at No. 1 on Hot 100 Singles.
The Sade album stays at No. 1 in France and Hungary and moves 2-1 in the Czech Republic and the Belgian region of Wallony, but falls from the summit to No. 2 in Italy and Sweden. Steady at No. 2 in Switzerland and No. 3 in Portugal, its descent has been more rapid in the United Kingdom, where the set has moved 4-11-21.
Lady Gaga 's "The Fame" (Interscope/Universal) is back up 3-2 overall after returning to the top of the U.K. chart in its 59th week, with cumulative sales of 1,647,000 copies. Two new entries follow in the European Albums top ten, German rock band Unheilig 's "Grosse Freiheit" (Universal) at No. 6 and German-Tunisian rapper Bushido 's "Zeiten Ändern Dich" (Ersguterjunge) at No. 7. The Unheilig album, its seventh, becomes its first No. 1 in Germany (where the single "Geboren Um Zu Leben" is down 4-5) and enters at No. 4 in Austria.
Bushido, whose last album "Heavy Metal Payback" entered European Albums at No. 4 in October 2008 after starting at No.1 in Germany and No.2 in Austria and Switzerland, begins this time at No. 1 in Austria, No. 2 in Germany and No. 3 in Switzerland.
"Glee: The Music, Season One, Vol. 1 " (Epic/Sony Music Entertainment) holds at No. 8 overall and at No. 1 in Ireland, but falls 1-2 in the United Kingdom, despite 40,000 new sales. Muse 's "The Resistance" (Helium 3/Warner Music) enjoys a six-place improvement at No. 9 in its 24th week on the aggregate chart, climbing 8-3 in France, 17-9 in Wallony and 45-37 in the United Kingdom.
