Miley Cyrus spreads her wings in the video for "Can't Be Tamed," which finds the soon-to-be adult pop star dressed as a gothic, raven-like creature and hyper-aggressively grinding with a gang of feathered friends.

The video, which premiered Tuesday night (May 4) on E! , starts off with Cyrus caged and crouched in a bird's nest at a black-tie affair, as grownups stare at her awestruck and snap photos. The event's host unveils the singer by introducing her as "the rarest creature on Earth: Avis Cyrus!" and she shields herself with her wings, then breaks free from captivity to blow our minds with spastic, straight-jacketed dance moves.
Sporting smoky eyes and a wingspan that could rival a pterodactyl's, Cyrus performs choreography that heavily recalls that of Rihanna's "Disturbia" video while singing, "If you try to hold me back, I might explode/Baby, by now you should know...I can't be tamed! I can't be changed!" Of course, she also makes room for standard glamour shots, laying in a bed of peacock plumes and ogling the camera.
"Can't Be Tamed" is the lead single from Cyrus' upcoming album due June 22, and both the song and its video are presented as "the next step in the evolution of Miley Cyrus." Will her fans will go along with the bold transition? Stay tuned...
