Britney Spears Consoles Mel Gibson
Britney Spears  found a friend in Mel Gibson back when she hit a rough patch in 2008 (otherwise known as her Shaved Head Period), and now, the pop star is returning the favor. According to a source, Spears has been talking to Gibson on the phone regularly since his abusive tirades against ex-girlfriend Oksana Grigorieva leaked online. "Mel was one of the only people who reached out to help Britney when she was at her lowest point," said the source, "and she believes that demonstrates what a loving and wonderful man he is. She wants people to give him a second chance -- just like he gave her one when everyone else turned away." (InTouch )
Eminem & Rihanna Shoot 'Lie' Video
On Tuesday, Eminem  and Rihanna  shot the music video for their duet "Love the Way You Lie," which just ended Katy Perry's reign at No. 1 on the Hot 100 . The duo snapped a photo from the video's set in L.A., and it looks like the Barbadian singer is still sporting the bright red hair she first debuted at Rock in Rio  in June. Tweeted director Joseph Kahn before the shoot, "Got off a call. Emergency music video. Gonna write and turn in a treatment in three hours to shoot asap. Video is gonna happen. Lots of work to do now. Jermaine Jackson Talks Michael's Kids
Jermaine Jackson says that Prince, Paris and Blanket Jackson are hanging in there since their father Michael Jackson's  death last year. "My mother [Katherine] raised nine kids, so she definitely knows how to raise them," Jackson said at a dinner for the Children Uniting Nations conference in Washington, D.C. Jackson added that the children see other members of the family regularly. "We have dinners at different homes," he said. (People )
Ice-T Calls NYPD Officer a 'Punk B*tch'
Ice-T  is not holding back his anger towards the NYPD officer who arrested him yesterday  for a driving offense. The rapper took to Twitter to share his feelings about the arrest. "Some punk b*tch rookie cop named Fisher #10026 Made the arrest of his bullsh*t career today," Ice-T tweeted. "Arresting the Notorious Ice T for no seatbelt." B.o.B., Gaslight Anthem Announce Tours
Rapper B.o.B.  and New Jersey rockers the Gaslight Anthem  both announced extensive headlining tours today. B.o.B.'s "Shootin' for Stars" tour will kick off Aug. 3 at Six Flags in St. Louis, Mo. and run through Oct. 30 in Washington, D.C. Additional info can be found at bobatl.com . Arcade Fire to Stream MSG Show on YouTube
All hope is not lost for those who couldn't score tickets to Arcade Fire's  sold-out Aug. 5 show at Madison Square Garden. The indie rockers will stream their anticipated performance live on YouTube, taking a cue from bands like U2 and the National who have done the same recently. Spoon is slated to open the show, which Arcade Fire is now promoting with a video trailer  that contains an excerpt from "Rococco," a new song from its forthcoming album "The Suburbs." (Spinner )
Beach Boys Reunion a Possibility
Legendary pop group the Beach Boys  may reunite for their 50th anniversary, says Al Jardine. If it happens, the lineup would consist of Jardine along with Brian Wilson, Mike Love, Bruce Johnston possibly David Marks, who played guitar with the group from 1962-1963. "We're definitely doing at least one show -- you heard it first," Jardine said. "It's a big deal. I don't know where it will be yet, but it'll probably be free. Golden Gate Park was mentioned, as was the [National] Mall in Washington, D.C. and the north shore of Chicago by the beach." (Rolling Stone )
