A preview of the making of Kanye West 's video for "Power," the first single of his still untitled upcoming album, was released online today (Aug. 4).
In the video, filmmaker/artist/director Marco Brambilla is walking through halls of the video shoot and describing the technique and message he tried to convey with the video. Brambilla's work has been featured at galleries and museums all across the world including the Guggenheim Museum in New York and the San Francisco Museum of Modern Art.
Similar to the Greek Renaissance pictures Kanye has been tweeting lately, the sneak peek portrays Kanye as a royal heir of the hip-hop throne wearing an abnormally large gold chain of an Egyptian god.
Brambilla describes the video saying, "This is a highly constructed, highly mannered, somewhat religious tabla that communicates the end of an empire," adding that his "work often deals with the seduction and the alienation present in contemporary culture."
