With The Roots as his house band, Jimmy Fallon has become known for some pretty fantastic musical segments, but when he throws in Justin Timberlake and some classic hip-hop, things get epic.
Video: Justin Timberlake and Jimmy Fallon, Hip Hop
Timberlake was visiting Fallon last night (Sept. 29) to promote his new film "The Social Network" when the two segued into a hip-hop melody. Starting with Sugar Hill Gang 's "Rapper's Delight," the duo rounded through all the classics including the Beastie Boys' "Paul Revere," and Dr. Dre and Snoop Dogg 's "Nuthin' But a G Thang." They included the new school favorites as well, with Eminem 's "My Name Is," Missy Elliott 's "Work It" and T.I. featuring Rihanna 's "Live Your Life."
Alhough there seemed to be some rhythmic challenges when Timberlake and Fallon got to Digital Underground 's "Humpty Dance" and the "Soulja Boy" dance, they were able to make the crowd go wild when they ran into the audience for a group chorus of Jay-Z and Alicia Keys ' "Empire State of Mind."
Does this mean JTimb's next album could include some more hip-hop flavor? Will he ask The Roots to collaborate? We certainly hope so.
