Phil Collins [1] leads Billboard's European Albums chart for a third week with "Going Back" (Atlantic/Warner Music), as Eminem [2]'s "Love The Way You Lie" (Interscope/Universal), featuring Rihanna [3], moves into a third week atop European Hot 100 Singles.

Collins' soul covers set surrenders its lead in Holland, falling to No. 3, and slips 3-4 in Spain and the United Kingdom, 3-6 in Sweden, 3-7 and 4-8 in the Belgian regions of Flanders and Wallony respectively, 4-7 in Germany and 6-9 in France. It climbs 10-9 in Norway.

In an unchanged top three in the European album market, Linkin Park [4]'s "A Thousand Suns" (Warner Bros./Warner Music) holds at No. 2 and Eric Clapton [5]'s "Clapton" (Reprise/Warner Music) at No. 3. "Suns" falls 2-3 in Switzerland but makes that move in reverse in Austria, while Clapton adds new entries at No. 5 in Sweden and No. 6 in Italy.

Veteran English vocalist Joe Cocker [6] makes a sturdy No. 4 debut on European Albums with "Hard Knocks" (Sony Music Entertainment), after high debuts in his strongest markets across the region. He's in at No. 1 in Germany, No. 2 in Switzerland and No. 4 in Austria. It's Cocker's first album for Sony; his last for Capitol/EMI, "Hymn For My Soul," debuted only at No. 8 in Germany and No. 20 overall across Europe.

Ironically, "Hard Knocks" has done less well in the U.K., where his previous album managed a No. 9 start in the United Kingdom, after the singer performed on the mass-audience TV chat show "Parkinson" around the 2007 release. The new set makes only a No. 71 U.K. debut. Cocker's European "Hard Knocks" tour continues tomorrow (Oct. 16) in Toulouse.

Santana [7] slips 4-5 Europe-wide with "Guitar Heaven: The Greatest Guitar Classics of All Time" (Arista/Sony Music Entertainment), despite a 4-3 move in Italy. Eminem's "Recovery" (Interscope/Universal) is steady at No. 6 overall, after improving 15-9 in the United Kingdom and 11-10 in Austria. "Love The Way You Lie" maintains its European Hot 100 Singles reign with the help of a No. 3 debut in France, and despite falling 1-2 in Italy.

South London rapper Tinie Tempah [8]'s No. 1 start in the United Kingdom with his Parlophone/EMI debut "Disc-Overy," on sales just shy of 85,000, fuels a pan-European entry at No. 7. Two singles from it are in the U.K. top five: last week's No. 1 there, "Written In The Stars" featuring Eric Turner, is now at No. 3 and "Miami 2 Ibiza," credited to Swedish House Mafia vs. Tinie Tempah, arrives at No. 5; its previous hits "Pass Out" and "Frisky" are still in the top 50, and the rapper has a total of six titles in the singles top 75.

Mumford & Sons [9]' "Sigh No More" (Universal Island), which last week celebrated a year on the U.K. chart, starts its second year in fine style, moving up three places to a new peak of No. 3 and moving past sales of 700,000, according to the Official Charts Company. It's down 6-9 in Flanders, but up 17-8 on European Albums.

Sliding down the collective album top ten are German violinist David Garrett [10]'s "Rock Symphonies" (Decca/Universal), 7-9, and the Script [11]'s "Science & Faith" (Phonogenic/Sony Music Entertainment), 5-10. Garrett falls 1-3 in Germany but climbs 9-4 in Switzerland, while the Script dips 1-2 in the United Kingdom.
