Wilco, Emmylou Harris, Jimmie Vaughan, and Kelly Willis are among the more than 60 artists that will be on hand for the inaugural Austin City Limits Music Festival, set for Sept. 28-29 in the Texas capital's Zilker Park. Named after the enduring public television live performance music series, the festival will boast music on six stages, including the Jam Stage, the Heritage Stage, and the American Original Stage, as well as two local music platforms -- the Texas Stage and the Austin Stage.
Other artists who will be appearing at the festival include Ryan Adams, Los Lobos, the Blind Boys Of Alabama featuring Charlie Musselwhite, Shawn Colvin, Patty Griffin, the Jayhawks, Pat Green, Nickel Creek, Sound Tribe Sector 9, Vallejo, the String Cheese Incident, Allison Moorer, Gillian Welch, Asleep At The Wheel, and Luna.
The two-day event will also feature an art market and a "Taste of Austin" food court manned by some of the city's well-known restaurants.
Tickets are $22.50 per day if purchased by Sept. 20 ($25 after), or $40 for a weekend pass ($45 after Sept. 20) via Star Tickets ; kids under 10 accompanied by a ticketed adult will be admitted free. A "Friends of the Festival" pass for four offers weekend passes, VIP hospitality access, two parking passes, t-shirts, posters, and a collection of CDs autographed by festival artists for $1,500.
