Beyoncé, Clay Aiken, Foo Fighters, Shania Twain and Evanescence are confirmed to perform at the 2003 Billboard Music Awards, joining previously announced  performers No Doubt and 2003 Billboard Century Award winner  Sting. The show will take place Dec. 10 at the MGM Grand Garden Arena in Las Vegas and air live on FOX at 8 p.m. ET (tape-delayed on the West Coast).
Presenters will include JC Chasez, Dave Navarro, Kelly Clarkson, Celine Dion, Chingy, LL Cool J, actress Carmen Electra and Triumph the Insult Comic Dog. The event will be hosted by "American Idol" host Ryan Seacrest. Additionally, married vocalists/reality-TV stars Jessica Simpson and Nick Lachey will make a special appearance.
The Billboard Music Awards annually recognize the year's leading artists and songs as determined by actual performance on Billboard's weekly charts, which are based on sales data compiled by Nielsen SoundScan and radio information monitored by Nielsen Broadcast Data Systems. Finalists for the 2003 awards will be announced in the coming weeks.
